I met up with a few guys from the faithwheelers 4wheeling club to go do an
easy run up at Greenwater. It was an overall easy day and I am glad I went
because they were a bunch of nice guys. Dale wanted to test out a bunch of new
stuff on his rig and Scott wanted to test his new Parnelli Jones 35" tires.
All Toyota's met up at the Safeway in Enumclaw. My rig looked tiny next to
Dale's.....Actually most anyone's rig would look tiny next to his.
Here's a brief synopsis of what happened in the day. We took FS Road 70 up to
where there was enough snow for Dale and Scott's (xcab) kids could play in the
snow for a little while. I couldn't believe that it was actually snowing when we
were up there, not just a little either. That was where Scott (Tacoma) got stuck
first. After letting the kids play and snacking for a little Dale pulled him out
and had to head back home. I also got stuck turning around and Scott (Tacoma)
yanked me out. On the way down, the two Scott's wanted to play in a little mud
field. I was going to give it a try until I saw Scott (Tacoma) get stuck within
20 feet of the entrance. After that I decided to just be the cameraman. After
playing in there for awhile and getting stuck, Scott (Tacoma) had to take his
second skid plate off as it was just dangling by two bolts. As we were heading
down to go home, my friend Kevin actually found me on the FRS. Scott in the
Tacoma was going to show Kevin and I some trails. At this time, Scott in the
extra cab had to leave. We followed Scott and tried to make it up a steep
section of the Naches trail, but none of us made it to the top. Although the
Toyota's did make it up higher than the Jeep..haha. We then went and found
another trail and came upon this huge puddle. Scott was the lucky one to get to
go first and check out how deep it was. It was deep enough for the water to go
over the hood. We went as far as we could on that trail until we had to turn
around and go through the puddle again. After that, we were on our way home. I
had a great time and met some great people. Can't wait to do it again.
On another note, toward the entrance of FS 70 we saw a Cherokee that slid off
the road and nearly hit the bridge's guard rail. Luckily he just slid down the
little ditch and wasn't hurt. After talking to the guy, it was obvious he had
been drinking. I could smell it on his breath even when he wasn't even speaking
directly at me. Scott was able to pull him out quickly. PLEASE don't drink and
drive!!
